Do you Organize Your Day?

Have you ever had so many things running through your head that you didn’t know what to do fist?  I feel like that quite a bit and I am always jumping from one thing to another.  I guess that’s the price I have to pay for always having business ideas running through my head.  The problem I am sure you deal with is what to do to first to complete your goal.  I know that is one of my biggest problems, I have my idea and I am ready to start work on it but I never know what steps should be taken first.

Right now I have two projects I am working on and jump from one to the other with no rhyme or reason.  When you work like that it gets frustrating because it seems like you never make any progress.  So I decided to look through my books for something that can help.  The book I decided to start reading is just what the doctor ordered.  Its Brian Tracy’s “Eat that Frog!” I just started reading it again and only got through the first two chapters but those two chapters are just what I needed to get me straightened out.

My biggest problem is I never start my day off organized.  One of the suggestions Brian makes is to write down a to do list everyday.  I have tried that in the past and it works for a few days and then I forget one morning because I am running late or something else happens.  But the days that I do make a list I am not as frustrated by my lack of progress because each item on the list that is crossed off gets me one step closer to my goal.  It’s amazing how a little thing like listing the most important things you need to do each day can really make you feel better about your self, well that’s if you actually do it.  If you make a list and don’t do anything on the list you wouldn’t feel good.

That one suggestion can save you a lot of time and frustration.  I have read other books and they all say the same thing about writing down what needs done and checking them off as you do them.  So if I have read this before why didn’t I do it?  That’s a great question and one that I have asked myself. (I am still waiting for an answer.)  Some times it just takes a little extra time for things to click.  I just hope that it doesn’t take as long for things to click with you as it has for me.

Here is to starting you day off organized and to reaching all of your goals!

All the Best,

Rick
